NIS History

In 2004, NIS celebrated 40 years of service to Nagoya. To celebrate, the school hosted a "Gala Reception", and alumni and supporters gathered at the Hilton Nagoya to reflect and re-connect with memories of our little school in Nakashidami.

To commemorate the achievement, "Big Ideas: The Story of Nagoya International School" was published. Written by board member L. Sheppard, the book chronicles the trials and tribulations of NIS through interviews and photographs. The book version features a Japanese translation (summary). The following pages are straight from the book.

If you would like a copy of the book, please contact us and we would be happy to send you one. Donations to cover postage are greatly appreciated.
