Greetings from the PTA
The Nagoya International School PTA is a very active group that
supports students, teachers and parents in many ways:
- Organizes the yearly school PTA fundraising activities in support
of the school community;
- Supports teachers through offering volunteer workers to help with
copying, laminating, binding and other tasks;
- Organizes several events throughout the year to help the NIS
community come together;
- Helps the school with a variety of events, including medical
screening, school photo day, open houses, graduation ceremonies,
etc.;
- Organizes craft and cooking classes for parents;
- Produces a monthly PTA Newsletter;
- Donates funds raised to a variety of causes to better the school,
enabling the school to purchase needed equipment and supplies, and also
supports the scholarship portion of the school’s Annual Giving
Fund.
The PTA has a ‘big heart’ for the school and find fulfillment in
raising money for equipment, materials and other projects that enhance
the education of our children and helps ease the work-load of our
teachers. You’ll find our PTA very warm and welcoming!
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee consists of a President, Vice President,
Treasurer, Secretary, the Headmaster, the School Board Representative
and a faculty representative, and meets monthly. The Annual
General Meeting, open to all PTA members, is held each May/June.
The AGM sees the election of new Executive Committee members and votes
on major funding allocations.
