Congratulations Mathematicians!

Three NIS students will receive medals for their achievements in the recent High School Canadian Mathematics Competition, one each for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Good job NIS mathematicians!

16th Annual NIS/ACCJ Walkathon!

The 16th Annual Walkathon is coming up on May 20! Sponsored by NIS and the ACCJ (American Chamber of Commerce, Japan), the Walkathon is Nagoya’s biggest charity event. Last year, 1,500 participants joined to help raise ¥6.5 million for charitable organizations in the Chubu area. In addition to helping organizations in the local community, the Walkathon is a fun family day out with food, games, entertainment, and of course a leisurely walk around Meijo park surrounding Nagoya Castle. We hope everyone in the NIS community can join and give back to members of the community in need. Tickets for this event are ¥1,000 for a child or student (up to 18 years old) and ¥2,000 for adults. The purchasing of tickets and banners are the main method of raising funds for the event. Of course, everyone who buys a ticket will receive an NIS student designed Walkathon T-shirt at the event. Ticket order forms have been sent home. We hope that all members of the NIS community will purchase tickets to help those in need right here in our community. Even if you can’t make it on the day, purchasing tickets is still an important way to support this worthy cause. I hope to see you in at the Walkathon on Sunday, May 20!
